At Redbridge, we are lucky to be able to enjoy literature in its many forms. This can be through reading and listening to stories, and also through Theatrical Productions and Reading Events.
Theatrical Productions
Altru Theatre Company are regular visitors to our school. They put on the most fabulous performances that engage and delight all of our pupils. This also gives pupils the opportunity to develop a love of the arts as well as literature, and inspires many of our pupils to get involved with DaDa (an innovative and cutting edge disability, Deaf and Neurodivergent arts organisation based in Liverpool),
Reading Events
Each year classes are invited to sign up to reading events ran by others through Liverpool Children’s Festival of Reading Events run by Liverpool Learning Partnership. Pupils get to attend these different events and engage in the Festival of Reading with their peers. Giving them the opportunity to celebrate reading and develop a love of reading for pleasure outside the school environment.
We have also been lucky to have been visited by local poet Levi Tafari. Levi came and shared some of his poems with our whole school during an assembly and spent the rest of the day doing creative writing workshops with different groups of pupils from around the school.
