Prospectus "Records of Achievement, Sex Education, Health & Hygiene"
Records of achievement
Each student at Redbridge has a file in which to record their achievement. Students are encouraged to discuss with staff which pieces of work they will be including in their file and why. This helps the pupils to set their progress and gives recognition and reward to achievements.
Students review their files regularly and the file changes with the student as they progress through the school. When each student leaves Redbridge they also receive a National Record of Achievement which becomes the student’s property and can be shown to the staff of their future placements, as well as parents and friends.
Sex education ,health and hygiene
Sex education, in its wider sense, can be seen as the awareness of self and the care for, and of others. In this respect it is implicit in our school aims and throughout our teaching and learning, particularly in our personal and social education lessons. However when sex education becomes concerned with more sensitive issues, often associated with the onset of adolescence, then our pupils are provided with a comprehensive programme of sex education. Parents are fully consulted before any programme is commenced and regular communication between home and school is promoted during the programme so that parents and staff can fully support the child and each other during this period.
Equal Opportunities.
Redbridge is committed to providing equal opportunities for all students regardless of gender, ability or race.
