Mathematics

Liverpool Counts

We think that here at Redbridge we do a great job of including numeracy across the school day and beyond. Our pupils take part in a whole host of practical activities, educational visits and cross curricular challenges to reinforce their learning and to encourage them to become independent problem solvers. Maths is imbedded in subjects as diverse as ICT, educational visits, design technology, cookery and PE.

Following our success in being awarded the Liverpool Counts Quality Mark, we have continued to focus on numeracy for life whilst using a wide range of visual supports and tools to help our young people as they develop their understanding of maths.
We all use maths throughout our daily lives and we would like to encourage you to be positive about maths with your son or daughter. Learning does not only happen at school so perhaps you could demonstrate how maths is vital when adding up the shopping or when planning a journey.
If you are feeling really adventurous, try the National Numeracy Challenge
